I also have this same problem. I haven't gotten it to work, either.

Oh, and two pieces of information I forgot... I'm using version 1.2 and I have not looked at the source code any.

I successfully got five school computers to render something (to test the software), but right now I'm trying to have my distributor on a linux computer and the nodes on Windows and I get an "Authentication error" every time it tries to connect (ever 5 seconds). In the terminal/cmd on the distributor computer it does say that a node has been connected, but on the node computer it won't...

The client cannot connect to the distributor
it asks me for the username and password and i can enter the username but not the password. the text box doesn't respond at all to my keyboard. and even if it does the client gives me "failed to connect".
i am using ubuntu 9.04 with sun java 6.

i am doing that now. I use Hamachi to create a VPN between my machines. This enables them to think they're all on the same network with different IP addresses.

Just finished working on the sources. Added a port field to the Client. The field disables the Connect button if empty and is initialized with a value of 55100.

I just looked at the Node and it does allow for a different port. I guess the problem is only in the Client.

Distributor allows for custom ports for both client and node connections. Although I have yet to look at the node, the client offers no option for a different port. I looked at the source and the port is defined in the main class of the client. I changed it to read from the commandline arguments but I will try a different solution.

Hey there,
I'm having a heck of a time trying to get distriblend to work. I keep getting a java.io.EOFException and it tries to restart the render and is just in this loop. It does this every time. How can I fix it?
Here is a screenshot of my log:

Hey there!
I just checked Distriblend and find it very useful. However I couldn't find an option to output the rendered pics as openEXR. Am I missing something?
Best wishes,
Tobi.
