mysqlcppapi was a fork of MySQL++ created to fix numerous problems in the original code. As of 2005 MySQL++ is in new (much better) hands and is being actively developed, so you should use MySQL++ rather than mysqlcppapi: http://tangentsoft.net/mysql++/
