    Update 19/9/2010: binaries for python 2.7 32bit and 64 bit on http://www.codegood.com MySQL for Python project is a great contribution to Python developers that need to work with MySQL. It has been tested in the field and works. For windows binaries look at http://www.codegood.com. There you will find 32 bit and 64 bit binaries for the 1.2.3c1 and 1.2.2 versions of the project that work with python 2.6 and Python 2.5, you will also find embedded versions for Python 2.6.

    This is a nightmare to use with MAMP. It needs a check to make sure that directory structures and files are where they expect them to be. The list of requirements does not list mysql include files and where they have to be. In general this would be a lot more useful if it were to include more setup logic for MAMP installation. Specific problems include mysql_config in the wrong place which breaks various tools to simplify installation. Another is the requirement for mysql components (header files) that are not present with MAMP builds. There is online instructions for obtaining source files from mysql that appear to be out of date.
