MySQL support for Python. MySQL versions 3.23-5.1; and Python versions 2.3-2.6 are supported. MySQLdb is the Python DB API-2.0 interface. _mysql is a low-level API similiar to the MySQL C API. ZMySQLDA is a Database Adapter for Zope2.

MySQL for Python project is a great contribution to Python developers that need to work with MySQL. It has been tested in the field and works. For windows binaries look at http://www.codegood.com. There you will find 32 bit and 64 bit binaries for the 1.2.3c1 and 1.2.2 versions of the project that work with python 2.6 and Python 2.5, you will also find embedded versions for Python 2.6.

Surprising that there is not an official (or even semi-official) Win32 binary for Python 2.6. Even wxPython has Win32 binaries! Am working on trying to build the tool myself, but there have am in the midst of jumping through quite a few hurdles (some of which are not MySQLdb's fault). Latest curveballs are needing 5.0 (not 5.1) installed and 5.0 source along with a VS 2008 compiler. Ughh. Given the lack of Win32 support, when I'm going to advocate (at work) to moving to SQLite3 or PostgreSQL for future projects.

Finally a new version! If you take the newest source tar.gz (1.2.3c1 at the time of writing), then it compiles on Mac OS X, and it works with python 2.6

Want to say thumbs up, but the lack of Win32 binaries for Python 2.6 or 3.x is disappointing and a deal-breaker. The 1.22 version for Python 2.5, which had Win32 binaries, worked great. Unfortunately we no longer use Python 2.5...

Apparently Python 2.6 for Windows is not yet supported. The installer is looking for Python 2.5 in the registry and will not load the code without it...
