  I am co-arranging several events both at work and when doing volunteer work. The events are often repeated and perfected. There is a great deal of mundane tasks that needs to be taken care of. Contact lists, venue information, ability to click-and-call with VoIP telephony systems like the free PBX asterisk.org, setting up of a time line with deadlines. The software should be user roles based and take care of the full life cycle from initial pre-planning and research, budgeting, to do-lists according to user roles, being able to communicate within groups based on roles (eg. all attendants at the wardrobe needs to be able to discuss among themselves and be able to get instructions from other managers). There could be a "dashboard" web gui which is the operational control center of the event being organized . There should be a post event part that gives statistics, user feedback and feedback from the crew to be taken into account when setting up the event next time. A database of "event styles" or templates would further make this more useful. Ticketing and self serving kiosks for attendees wil further make this a great piece of software. Security should be built around user roles. Best of Luck! The software could be developed as a module to Drupal or Joomla
