Description
LetoDMS is an open-source, web-based document management system (DMS) written in PHP with a database backend. LetoDMS provides document meta-data, version control, security and easy access to your documents.

- Document-Metadata: Meta-data can be attached to a document (such as owner, status, create date, etc.)
- Version-Control: Old versions of documents are saved and can be retrieved as needed
- Security-Mechanism: Not every user should have access to every document - a DMS offers restriction-mechanisms
- Easy Access: Users can find files through tables of contents, indexes, and full-text searches and sort the results by certain criteria
- Automatic Email Notification On or Off

Lacks important features, as there are: - access to unverified/rejected documents; all users can download and use information that was not approved due to various reasons - e-mail notification setup does not support SMTP auth., had to use a hack as found in the letodms forum; includes additional installation of PHPMailer Nice and responsive GUI, anyway

I find it simple to use, and basic... but there are features missing, like import/export of archives, and the UI lacks moder AJAX features to render it a bit more user-friendly to casual desktop users

Excellent project! Notification is really great, nice revision management; worthy alternative to MS Sharepoint if you're only looking to serve files!
