LetoDMS is an open-source, web-based document management system (DMS) written in PHP with a database backend. Originally coded by Markus Westphal, LetoDMS provides document meta-data, version control, security and easy access to your documents.
Features:
- Document-Metadata: Meta-data can be attached to a document (such as owner, status, create date, etc.)
- Version-Control: Old versions of documents are saved and can be retrieved as needed
- Security-Mechanism: Not every user should have access to every document - a DMS offers restriction-mechanisms
- Easy Access: Users can find files through tables of contents, indexes, and full-text searches and sort the results by certain criteria

Simple to use and directly fully functional with a debian package installation. Perfect for complex user permissions on documents for novice administrators.

You haveto change the owner on the Content file where the Documents are stored on. As you see you cannot write on there or make a directory so you need to change the owner to "www-data". I work with the installation of this db in my studies. I do it with the Linux Debian Shell. Agree with previous review. Hard to see how this adds value. Had high hopes, no obvious documentation and the demo crashed first time I tried to add a file.
