Version 1.3 released on October 9, 2002. A major update: - Code of the program entirely rewritten, for a better stability and reliability. - The program is now compatible with Jaguar OS 10.2.1 - Code for the file renaming routine (after split process) fully rewritten using perl (fast!) - Many bugs fixed, among others: - program crashed due to incomplete loading of nibs at program start on a drag and drop action - program stopped reporting a succesful split or concat process while the process was still busy - splitting a file into more than 100 parts crashed the program - the "Forced Quit" button was not reliable (now replaced by a "Cancel" button) - Various extra error checks built into the program: - to prevent the user from trying to split an OS X application - to prevent trying to produce output on read-only media (CD, DVD) - to prevent splitting into parts larger than 2 Gig - The Esc key now releases the input panel (where you indicate the file size for the split process).

Version 1.1 of MacPAR OS X, a user friendly OS X interface for the PAR utility developen on Parchive.sourceforge.net, for OS X.1.2 users to easy create PAR archives or to recover missing files in a chain of multipart files (like .001, .002 etc.) by using .PAR files (like .P01, .P02). What's new in this version 1.1: - Fixed a bug that crashed the program in AppleScript version 1.8.2b3 (this version will probably be introduced in the next version of OS X (10.1.4 ?). The source code of AppleScript Studio is still very much under construction. There have been implemented important changes in the code that will cause MacPAR version beta 3 to stop functioning under the next version of the operating system. It is indispensable to upgrade to this version 1.1 for MacPAR to continue functioning in future. - Checked for backwards compatibility with AppleScript 1.8.2 and 1.8.2b1 - This is release is also final in that sense that I will no longer continue development of my AppleScript Studio designed version of MacPAR in favour of the recently developed MacPAR deLuxe Cocoa version (see http://www.xs4all.nl/~gp/MacPAR_deLuxe/). The Cocoa environment has (at this moment) much better possibilities for creating a perfect user interface than AppleScript Studio.
