Legal Interception

  1. 2009-09-27 13:48:32 UTC

Hi there, Does mumble have any facility to provide legal interception of conversations and chat?

This feature doesnt seem to be present in those closed source alternatives to mumble.

This feature is a requirement from our legal department who (understandably) want to comply with local laws here in Aus.

As a large telco, you can understand that legal interception is required of us. As much as people will be outraged, and the arguments im sure are for and against, ultimately its a requirement of doing business.

    Thanks.

    Z.

I assume you mean eavesdropping, and there is no support for it, legal or otherwise. As the datastream is encrypted, it's not easy to add either.

If you absolutely must have this, you'll need to modify the server yourself to have it dump voice packets to a file.

how about an option to log the Textmessages typed to the server logfile for a start
