MPC-HC does not require any special configuration, just download it and go. There are dozens of user-friendly options to choose like a wide range of A/V formats. And you can design a default format with LAV filters or other DirectShow decoders that are based on the FFmpeg decoder. With MPC-HC you have the options to select an aspect ratio that matches your playback device and personal preferences. For example, the Pan & Scan mode crops videos to fill the screen without letterboxing by omitting portions of the image, which may be appropriate on some devices. It's a good movie player, but it has some bugs, and these can't be repored thanks to their new "trac" bug report systems which don't let you do anything, and full of bugs.

Excellent player with an easy to use yet advanced functionality. Light on the design side though...

Oustanding ! It can play everything almost by itself ! For BD ISO or 3D BD ISO you have to use a Virtual drive with MPC-HC to be able to play them. But otherwise it's an 12 on 10 !!! It plays those SAMSUNG HEVC .TS Ultra HD 4k files with ease ! Marvelous !!!!
