Thanks for the suggestions. So far I have not resolved the problem. I need more time.
I am using a Dell Latitude D610 with Windows XP. I have also tried it on a older desktop also with XP with the same result.
Should I try running MOV on Ubuntu 7.04 Linux? I am not yet very familiar with linux.

It sounds like an assertion is being triggered, which is then halting the process. Are you running from the .jar? If so, run MoV from the command line and see if any assertions are being triggered.

I don't have the answer, but I can give you some tips! HTH Try to use smaller data sets, and increase the size of the sets over time to see where you are hitting the border. Monitor your memory usage while you are running these analyses. Read through the other forum posts in this board, in one of them there is a comment on how to increase the size of your java sandbox area. If you are not...

Can anybody please help.
I am using Merchant of Venice genetic analysis and get that the program quits before it has finished running the set number of generations.
For example I used BHP from 3/11/1986 to 31/12/1986 and generations = 50, Population=1000, Breeding population=100, display population=3, window size=10. All other default settings.
