Mounting samba shares?

I may have missed something that's already easily available.

My linux (loccal) partitions are all mounted in a very permanent way and I don't mount cdroms very often, however I do like to mount network shares via samba quite often. In these cases I only want to use 'mount -t smbfs'. I can change mount.app to always use a predetermined command using mount.conf but this doesn't allow for the construction of "mount -f smbfs //neek/share /mnt/neek_share".

Can I use mount.app to cleanly mount and unmount such network shares? neekfenwick a-t hotmail d-o-t com.
