Ok, the setup program didn't work. Now it should. Moreover, I've enhanced the client-server protocol and fixed a bug with JDBC where unused connections weren't freed (don't rely on the garbage collector) and blocked out other connections.
- Fixed error in setup program, so now this should really work - Enhanced the client server protocol - Fixed bug concerning unclosed JDBC Connections blocking other connection - Fixed Bug within restructure procedure
After more that two years of development by just a single person (me ;-)) the MooN project has grown large enough to be published for the first time. MooN is aimed to be a full featured ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning) System somewhen. However, before you can build an ERP system, you have to have a software architecture you can build such a system on. There is no free software that fits those needs. Until now. At least 10% are done, but the most important ones. The proof of concept is done and visible here - now I am looking for coders to fill this concept with life. The basic application server and client-server protocols are working, also are the database access functions. You will be able to insert records in the database and modify them. You still cannot delete them unfortunately, but who cares.. ;-) So, after all, you are actually able to see something, if you start the software. The last months I spent implementing a setup software that will take care for creating all those nasty security and startup files that you need when running software under java. So, all the nasty stuff is hidden - Now you should be able to try out the existing parts of the software. I do hope, that some people will join me in this project. It is far too large for a single developer, and I spent a lot of time (my ex-wife and my still-girlfriend know...) to get it this far. From that point on - because it should be easy to install - I hope that some people might find the further develepment of this software a useful thing. So, if anyone is interested - drop me a line!
