Yeah I totally agree wityh this one, hands down. Means users with existing websites can easily integrate a login system onto their front page which would carry straight over to Monkey Boards without any problems.

I agree that this will eb a good step forward, especially for users with MySQL databases already. This shouldn't be too hard to implement either, so I think it'll be a good idea to give this a go very soon.

It would be nice to be able to easily integrate another account system into MB, for people adding forums to a site that already has logins for a different purpose. Basically it would make logging in or registering in one system work on both simultaneously.
For example, you could include a php file that provides a few functions:
1) A function to register users on MB based on pre validated...

I think Jamey was going to add this. I know you want it to be light, but a choice of database is a must IMO.
