Modplug is a 'Win32' X86 based audio application used to produce music. The application was initially a private project developed by Olivier Lapicque and is a popular 'tracker' used by many musicians. For more info, see http://www.modplug.com/forum .
One of the most versatile and powerful Trackers available. Its ability to use VSTi Instruments as well as standard sample sets means this is far more than a standard music creation tool, and I use it often from click track creation to orchestration and full on song development. I also use it live to run my VSTi's giving me complete control over the music I create and play. An essential piece of kit in my book!
I think it is worth pursuing
Excellent (28398)
SSSSUPERRRRR!
Best complete free tracker
i use it since a very long time and it's the best !! thank you to continue to developp it ! :)
Modplug is an excellent tracker, keeping the MOD standard alive :)
ModPlug is an excellent tracker. It has great compatibility with WINE. However, make sure not to use special features like VSTi in formats other than MPTM, because the original formats didn't have VSTi.
The best music software!
This is a very stable tracker. I am only using this tracker to create high-professional music. Awesome! But: It crashes with Vista and Windows 7.
This is my best music making program (=
It's certainly better than the other trackers.
It's still simply BEST !!! Still waiting new releases!!! Want to donate this project !!! If sometime it could support mp3 samples as standard, I lets jumping on my place!!!!
This in an excellen program, but would be better if administrators/programers release more recent versions (I still waiting for new functions). This is an awesome project, i use every days to make my music. I recommend entyrely this, jus download and enjoy!
It's my favorite flavour of tracker... I used it years ago... and now im using it again... I have not only been running it in Windows but also using openMPT with VSTi plugins in linux under wine... long live openMPT!
Modplug Tracker is very powerful. Most people tend to underestimate its potential.
We need it. MOD musics is not dead, still alive!
I've been using MPT for *blink* a decade?! Wooof. And, fact is, when I wanted to splice a track together just now ... ayup ... it's MPT I reached for!
