What's happening?

  • Increasing star catalogue and higher magnification

It would be very helpful to increase the catalogue with stars to mag 7. Also the Fov should be smaller, at the moment the 10° max is not enough, 5° would be much better. Another question i have; is there any progress on this lovely java application ? If u can tell me about any chances to progress, then mail jhs18@gmx.de . Jan.

  • Touch screen phones

This software is excellent. Elegant interface and well drawn chart. The only drawback I've found is that it doesn't work so well with my touchscreen Sony Ericsson W960. This has a scrollwheel, but no left/right buttons, so it's impossible to move the chart in azimuth. The workaround I've used is to use the goto feature to get to the right direction in the sky. I'm guessing starryalley...

  • Touch screen phones

Touch screen phones do not always have navigation buttons - certainly the SonyEricsson W960 does not, which makes it difficult to navigate the sky. Touch screen support, or some alternative method to navigate would be useful.

  • Mobile Star Chart 0.09‏

I would first like to applaud you for your efforts on a fantastic program. I currently own a Sony Ericsson W810i and when I first started the program I was confused. But after mastering the features I was hooked. If I had to recommend anything it would be more customization for the preset locations. Also I suggest a re-check the distances of some of the astronomical objects (for example;...

  • NOW with NGC version and ReducedStars version

Two versions are now ready: 1. Reduced Star: version 0.09 with reduced star down to about 1500 stars only. The size is now down to about 110KB 2. NGC version: version 0.09 with 111 newly added NGC objects shown in the sky. They are yellow on the screen. Search is also working for NGC objects. Please enjoy. ps. All of this is done within a 2.5-hr work. I don't really have time to do it now...

  • Followup: RE: Compiling sources

Sorry for late reply. I don't usually check out this place.. :( sorry~~ The compilation error is due to the Chinese characters I used in the source. Please set your environment to UTF-8 encoding to be able to compile it. The way to make the program full screen depends on MIDP versions, or whether your cell phone supports it. In MIDP2.0 I tried to use the pre-defined function to do full...

  • Followup: RE: Location Help

Hello. Sorry for the late reply. I could only guess that you could have set your cell phone into Text(ABC) mode, or that you could be using MIDP1.0 version, which may be the only choice for you.(Some cell phone only applies to 1.0 version) Because MIDP1.0 forbids NUMERIC types, so one can only use text input. But for the case of my cell phone, type 4 times on Button "1", there...

  • Compiling sources

Hello, I love your program. Many compliments for it! I tried to compile the sources with Wireless Toolkit 2.5, because I have a LG U900 phone with a wide screen (320x240), and I would like to try to modify the software in order to have the application using the full screen. Do you think it is feasible? Anyway, during compilation I have compilation errors...
