MidiQuickFix allows you to directly edit the events in a Midi file. It is intended to make it easy to find and fix problems, such as setting volume and pan values for a track, without the need for a complex Midi sequencing program.

  • Mac user here. Version 1.5.0 is compiled with Java 11, and requires Java Runtime 11 to run. However, Java Runtime is no longer provided by Oracle starting with Java 11, instead relying on this being bundled with the app. As such, I get the error message where the applications class file is 55 and the latest supported version is class file 52. Unless you're relying on users to learn Java and compile their own JRE, please fix this. Sticking with previous version for now, which works great btw.

Can't you just install a newer JRE? The latest 'Long Term Support' version is 17. On Ubuntu I just do a "sudo apt install openjdk-17-jre" Isn't there an equivalent on Mac?
  • About the bug for version 1.5 on Windows : Error: A JNI error has occurred, please check your installation and try again Exception in thread "main" java.lang.UnsupportedClassVersionError: com/lemckes/MidiQuickFix/MidiQuickFix has been compiled by a more recent version of the Java Runtime (class file version 55.0), this version of the Java Runtime only recognizes class file versions up to 52.0
  • I´m trying to run the last version 1.5.0. In Windows 10 64 bit, Java 8 update 271. I recive the message "A JNI error has ocurred. Please check your installation..." This doesn't happen with version MIDI Quick Fix 1.4.0.

Hi littlealien5, Thanks for the report. I have not seen this error but I will see if I can reproduce it. It is interesting because I don't, explicitly, use any JNI interfaces. I, generally, don't use Windows except for testing MQF. I am about to release a new version, 2.0, with some enhancements to the playback features. Stay tuned. Have Fun, jostle
  • Some problems with unicode, when opening a Russian song inside hieroglyphs, there are no such problems in other editors. The license is not indicated anywhere in the program, and the inscription in the project properties does not mean anything and changes in 5 minutes, unlike the assembled version, which is already distributed. In addition, it is very important which version of the license, since the first version is recognized as non-free.

  • Nice tiny app for viewing/editing the content of midi files, without any extra GUI visualizations. Just simple raw MIDI events in a simple and easy to use table form. Thanks to the author!
