When we wrote the article, Excel 2007 was not yet in the picture and we had no idea that the interface would be so different. We are working on an upgrade and expect it to be available by the end of 2008. However, as a user of Office 2007, you must realize that things have changed substantially and not only at the surface. Things have changed so much that we have even contemplated crossing over...

Please,
Since you do not state in your article, nor anywhere on any page regarding your work, that this program will not work in Excel 2007 (but you do say that it will work in any Excel of 2000 or later) how long will it be until MIX is functional in Excel 2007?
Many of us at the University were just beginning to use and enjoy your work - then we made our upgrade ... and guess what? Now...

In the preferences it is currently possible to set continuity corrections for the Peto method. This was not meant to be possible and the calculations are therefore not accurate. This is fixed in the next update and continuity correction options for all methods have been expanded.

The first value in the weights column in the annotated forest plot is linked to the third value (therefore giving a wrong value). The size of the squares in the plot are correct and so are the weights in the calculations and the numerical output. This problem is corrected in an update that will be launched soon.

Due to a referencing mistake in the update to version 1.53, the Q-statistic and I-square statistic in the Mantel-Haenszel (MH) odds ratio (OR) calculations give a zero value or a value that's too big. This has been solved and the fix will be included in the next update (soon).

On computers with versions of Excel older than 2003, an
error can occur when attempting to create a data set
via import of a CSV or Excel file. This is due to an
integrated coding library that is too new for these
versions of Excel. This bug is fixed in version 1.51.

Like with the exclusion sensitivity plot, during the
update to 1.4 a misreference has caused the OR/RR Egger
test output to be slightly off with some data sets.
Solved and corrected in next update. Version 1.5 will
be out soon.

During the update from 1.3 to 1.4 we changed the
calculation procedures for the exclusion sensitivity
plot with a random effects model. With this change we
introduced a bug by mistyping a reference and currently
the graph is no longer correct (this is very clear when
you produce it...). This has been corrected and will be
integrated in 1.5 or perhaps earlier with a patch.
