The Mentalinux Debian GNU/Linux PGI-based installer image 0.0.2 has been released. This one works, whereas 0.0.1 didn't (it had a broken gdk_imlib on the disc). The installer currently installs Debian woody (at least it should if it works) using the Progeny Graphical Installer with Configlets used for the second stage of the install. Mentalinux will have its own apt package repository once someone donates time and space on a server so we can run buildd. If you have a server that we can use, subscribe to mentalunix-developers@lists.sourceforge.net and tell us!
0.0.2: - kernel works - Python-gnome updated so it works - gdk_imlib updated so it also works - Discover updated and now detects about 500 more devices - USB core and uhci/ohci controller drivers compiled statically into the kernel (this should make life easier for people with ohci controllers i.e. just about everyone) [I may switch to using discover to see what kind of usb controller is being used (if possible) and then modprobing the appropriate controller driver in from preinst.sh]
As of today, the MentaLinux Project development has been started. A pre-development release should be released within two or three weeks.
