MEKMUD is a 100% java-written mud ensuring full portability. Its main goal is to implement a lot of simple scripts to make it easy customizable to various settings. A Legacy of Kain styled world based on this engine is also in the planning stages and will

Yes I know MEKMUD has been lying dead like a stranded fish for the last couple of months. I've had some *other* things to attend... I have started working on the code again and hope to make a new release in a couple of weeks. It is my hope that this next release will feature a fully functional network kernel, which only needs a command interpreter, a character/combat/spell-system and world to be a complete mud. Greetings kamstrup
I have released a copy of the source as it is by now. It should be stable but rather useless... I just made this release because I realy don't have the time to work on any code at the moment, so I figured I might as well show you what I got. This new kernel should by my opinion be quite a bit more flexible and comprehensive and any old code used in the earlier kernel should be easily ported to this new version as soon as I get to work :) Greetings kamstrup
I'm experimenting with a new core/kernel of the mekmud engine, with a more comprehensive and thought through design. It will feature a lot of code from the old engine but the over all scheme will look different. The main goal of this is to make the network-kernel totally independant of all classes not specificly designed for the kernel. The files for the kernel will be placed in a directory called mekmud/net and if my vision succeds other programmers need never look in this directory and can go on hacking away on any world specific code without worrying about any networking at all.
Yes I've just submitted a new release that allows you to move around in a three room world. You are actually able to talk to other players if any are present with you! The do commands should also be working like: "do smile kamstrup" result in You smile at kamstrup (on you screen) <activator> smiles at kamstrup (to all in same room) greetings kamstrup
Yes the mekmud0.1.2 should be ready for download by now. Go to our files section and download it now you lazy %$@?*!
