MazeRunner is mainly a puzzle game that is very extensible. It currently features maps, a scripting system, a music system, and it will soon have more.

After much coding and effort, we are proud to announce the first public alpha release of the MazeRunner (MMO)RPG! (Note: This is not an official release, but you can now get it from CVS, branch mazerunner_rpg) It currently features: Both a client and server (all code belonging to this project). The client and server have a unique communication method: The server is actually based on a very simple chat server, thus, the client manages and responds to most of the actions. Why do this when users can hack their client? I don't have any problem with that as it's perfectly easy for them to run their own servers. The server code is included with the main distribution so unhacked clients can always use the main server while the others run their own. Client features: The client itself takes advantage of Swing's HTML parsing abilities, thus, can render HTML. This means that you can color or change your font size in anyway you want, and easily export the logs to HTML to check them out later. Feel free to keep watch on the development, and expect a release soon!
We are proud to announce the release of the new wiki! After taking forever to find a decent one and then getting it working (SF's server farm made things difficult, so we are hosting it ourselves) but we are finally able to publicly release it. Please consider posting an article or just commenting on it at http://mazerunner.rootservers.org/bitweaver/ In other news, we would like to thank whoever submitted us to linuxlinks.com. At least we have one person who likes the game enough to help publicize it :) Thanks again to everyone who helped out!
Sorry about the problems in earlier releases we had overlooked. Nw the users.txt file is created in pure Java so there should be no worries about not being able to login/register. If you do, PLEASE post in the forums (http://mazerunner.rootservers.org/mrforum/) or report the bug in the tracker. A few other bugs were fixed although none were quite as significant as this one...
*Fixed login file bug *Smoothed out some other things
*Added about dialog with scrolling/music *Added music to the main screen *Some code optimization *Other things you should notice yourselfs...
After a few hours of configuration and customization, we are proud to announce the release of the forum. Check it out at http://mazerunnr.rootservers.org/mrforum/index.php
With the release of MazeRunner 0.59, we are happy to announce, among other things, updated graphics and new music. The new graphics, being 3D, help make everything more fun. As well as that, there is a hidden feature that everyone who finds it will consider useful. And the first person to find it may even get a reward of some sort. In the development area, a new collision system is in development that should make map creation easier and, not only does it save CPU cycles, it also makes everything more efficient and provides seamless wall checking. Apart from that, the scripting system, music system, and several new things are coming along nicely! Amidst all that, a new community is forming with the unveiling of the IRC channel at irc://irc.freenode.net/#mazerunner so feel free to join it.
*Added a new map *New map has new collision system although it can only be run standalone from the normal game. *New music *New graphics (updated smile image) *Other things...
