It is almost time to release Mangler 1.1.0. Packaging will start very soon, and additional modules will be available for various types of data tracking. With the release of Mangler 1.1.0, we should also see IPMangler, AbuseMangler, and CustomerMangler, possibly even VendorMangler. IPMangler is an IP address management database for tracking ARIN allocations and assigning IP networks to customers. AbuseMangler is a network abuse incident tracking system for managing complaints about customer activity. CustomerMangler has become the center of the Mangler suite, allowing service to customer relationships -- grouping information the way it should needs to be accessed... by customer account information. This release will break up the Mangler module code into separate pieces. The Mangler installation itself will simply become an application framework module, with each additional module adding new functionality.
The Mangler documentation has been completed and posted on the website. You will find the documentaiton at http://docs.mangler.org/ Included are full end user and administrator documentation.
With the first release of ZoneMangler, there has been quite a bit of activity. Over 4000 hits in 24 hours have been recorded on the Mangler website. The website has been expanded to include web statistics, CVS statistics, more marketing-type information, and a demo of Mangler itself. Visit http://demo.mangler.org/ for a demonstration of Mangler. Feel free to make any modifications desired. The demonstration applicaction does not affect any actual servers.
Mangler v.1.0.1 has been released and is now generally available. Mangler 1.0.1 currently only includes one module, ZoneMangler, for administration of DNS servers with BINDv9. Mangler v1 uses a MySQL backend and is capable of administering thousands of zones.
