Any ideas, or do I optimistically blank the HDD and reinstall Ubuntu from scratch in case I accidentally did something stupid with 1394 the first time which I might accidentally not repeat? :) I noticed that some "without 1394" code got submitted to the git repåository. Is there my answer in there? (i.e. is the pain of git'ing and building myself less than a complete install)

I went through _everything_ again on the not working Ubuntu desktop, resulting in reinstalls of... - libdc1394-13 - libdc1394-13-dev ..., based on checking the "working virtual machine" against the "desktop I need to use but isn't working with mando yet", the new installs... - ftgl-dev - glut-doc ...and, based on the "no"s from ./configure, new installs of... - cfortran...

  • Compatible webcams

Could we have a list of known working and not working webcams please? Currently we don't have V4L2 support so that rules out all UVC webcams for now. I also tried a "logitech quickcam deluxe for notebooks" - didn't work (complained about dev/video0)

libamu-dev did the trick on my new install - which now "make"s and runs! Thanks!!! However, I still can't figure out what went wrong for my first attempt that threw this to the terminal when I tried to make - any ideas? -> user@delltop:~/apps/mando-1.7.1$ make /usr/bin/moc-qt4 mandoWindow.hh -o moc_mandoWindow.cc /usr/bin/moc-qt4 mandoWizard.hh -o moc_mandoWizard.cc...

redwalnut, install libxmu-dev package and run configure script again. I should solve your OpenGL problem. Let me know.

I tried configure and make and posted my eventual make trouble here (I had to manually do libdc1394 and dependencies) as redwalnut: http://sourceforge.net/projects/mando/forums/forum/796192/topic/2139825/index/page/1 I decided to try again with this staring point: Vanilla Ubuntu 9.10 desktop i386 32bit, with updates 5.November.2009 and gawk, mando-1.7.1. (1st time was on a native i386 but...
