I was very happy to see a new version of MacFreeSCI released recently, but alas, I can't run it on either my Dual 2.3 Ghz G5 or my trusty 400Mhz PowerBook G4.
Is the problem to do with the new build being only available to be run from Leopard, or that you haven't been able to test with PPC? I'm not upgrading to Leopard anytime soon (I don't want to lose Classic!) and even if I was, I couldn't install it on my PowerBook G4 anyway because it doesn't meet the specs.
The requirement of having Leopard seems a bit steep to run these old Sierra games. I realise the Core Graphics API can make full screen and many graphic enhancements possible, but I believe programs like MacFreeSCI should be compatible with older Macs. Afterall, these older Macs (G3 and G4) can still handle late 80s adventure games without breaking a sweat.
If it's not possible to make the build compatible with Leopard AND Tiger, could two separate builds be made (I have no idea how to compile software myself). Or will I need to wait for the supposedly forthcoming FreeSCI plug-in for SCUMMVM?
