  • Followup: RE: Compiling lprof with Python 2.6?

I posted this in the bug tracker, but thought I'd put it here for you too. The easiest way to fix this is to update the copy of scons that is included to a newer version. If you have scons installed on your computer, you can copy all the necessary files. In my case, most of the files were in /usr/lib. 1. Copy libraries from computer to lprof. For me, I had to copy /usr/lib/scons-1.2.0...

  • Followup: RE: Building on Mac OS 10.6

I did reinstall all ports from scratch, since I typically keep a 'clean' install of my OS that has almost nothing installed on it on a separate drive, and it's from this drive that I recloned a new OS which I then upgraded to Snow Leopard. Now, this installation *did* have an older version of MacPorts installed on it. I invoked 'sudo port install lprof', and everything installed fine...

Hi Rishi, Use XCode. I didn't succeed with cmake either but I didn't really try hard. Also, this doesn't seem to be your case but if you also get "wrong architecture" or "wrong library" errors you will have to recompile all of your macports. The MacPort site strongly recommends to do it anyway. MacPorts are compiled for a specific OS architecture. By going from Leopard to Snow Leopard, all...

  • Followup: RE: Building on Mac OS 10.6

Hi guys, Sorry to be joining the game so late. I finally got around to trying to compile the CVS version of LProf today ('sudo port install lprof' only installed the dependencies; the lprof compile itself fails). I followed all the instructions here to the 'T', but compiling LProf (using cmake but not XCode) fails with the following error: [ 74%] Building CXX object...

  • Comment: Incorrect ICC profile with coarse mon. profiling method

LPROF version was 1.11.4 (debian unstable). It doesn't look like I can attach the second monitor profile, as far as I can see.

  • Incorrect ICC profile with coarse mon. profiling method

I am apparently getting an incorrect ICC profile out of the coarse monitor profiling method in LPROF. Here is what I did: I set gamma and black point, then chose a generic Wide Gamut RGB primaries for the profile, and generated a profile based on these values. The file is correctly interpreted by Firefox 3.0, Geeqie and Gimp, which lets me look at my pictures with somewhat more realistic colors...

  • Followup: RE: Questions on LProf scanner profiles

Thanks! This is what I call a helpful feedback - and quick, too. Some info for you in return: 1) Thanks for your tips. The scanning guide you mentioned is very good. 2) In fact this was merely a theoretical question as I was unable to produce reasonable profiles in the beginning. As you see, I have approached this one from a rather mathematical standpoint. 3) www.hutchcolor.com makes...

  • Followup: RE: Questions on LProf scanner profiles

I'm no expert but I've researched some of the same questions. Here's what I found. 1) Wolf Faust suggested to me to create CLUT 33 profiles. You end up with much larger profile files (668KB) but the colours, specially the mid tones, are much more accurate. Your dE seem very good too (less than 1.0). The values do tend to vary a lot depending on the target. I don't expect anything near...

  • Printer profile creation

Can anyone suggest an app to create printer profiles just like LProf for scanner profile? Assuming I have a reference target tiff file, a description of the reference file and a file with the photometric measurements of the printed target? In other words I bought a "printer calibration" from a photographic service bureau consisting of a reference file which I printed out, sent them in...
