LPROF version was 1.11.4 (debian unstable). It doesn't look like I can attach the second monitor profile, as far as I can see.

I am apparently getting an incorrect ICC profile out of the coarse monitor profiling method in LPROF. Here is what I did: I set gamma and black point, then chose a generic Wide Gamut RGB primaries for the profile, and generated a profile based on these values. The file is correctly interpreted by Firefox 3.0, Geeqie and Gimp, which lets me look at my pictures with somewhat more realistic colors...

Thanks!
This is what I call a helpful feedback - and quick, too.
Some info for you in return:
1) Thanks for your tips. The scanning guide you mentioned is very good.
2) In fact this was merely a theoretical question as I was unable to produce reasonable profiles in the beginning. As you see, I have approached this one from a rather mathematical standpoint.
3) www.hutchcolor.com makes...

I'm no expert but I've researched some of the same questions. Here's what I found.
1) Wolf Faust suggested to me to create CLUT 33 profiles. You end up with much larger profile files (668KB) but the colours, specially the mid tones, are much more accurate. Your dE seem very good too (less than 1.0). The values do tend to vary a lot depending on the target. I don't expect anything near...

Can anyone suggest an app to create printer profiles just like LProf for scanner profile? Assuming I have a reference target tiff file, a description of the reference file and a file with the photometric measurements of the printed target?
In other words I bought a "printer calibration" from a photographic service bureau consisting of a reference file which I printed out, sent them in...

I'm using lprof.exe 1.11.4.1.2 (June, 6, 2006) for windows under WinXP SP3 and an IT8.7 target from Wolf Faust with 22 cols i.e. 288 patches
and I'm having a few questions:
1) Using a scanner profile I thought would help me create scanned files which ressemble the original as close as possible.
Yet if I use LProf the profiles vary according to different profile parameter settings so much...

I'm trying to compile lprof-1.14.4.1 under Fedora 11 (which uses Python 2.6) and running into the following problem:
File "/opt/lprof-1.11.4.1/scons-local-0.96.91/SCons/Tool/gas.py", line 36
import as
^
SyntaxError: invalid syntax
It seems that as of Python 2.6 "as" is now a reserved word, which is causing havoc with the code. Is...

Hi Kunlun121,
The MacPort has not been updated. You can see that for yourself by doing: port search lprof
The last and only port version available gives a version number of @20090113. I assume the person who built this port used the date they retrieved it from CVS.
I'm running it with the instructions I placed above on Mac OS 10.6 but be warned that there are reports of a few bugs in Snow...
