We are still testing the patch on 0.8.5-1. 0.8.5-3 does not seem to be working with the devices with the patch. We did find that the patch does not have the code for the eraser. We have added it and currently testing it with the 0xd1, 0xd2, 0xd3, and 0xd4.

The newest openSUSE (11.2) doesn't create an xorg.conf anymore, allowing X to automatically detect and configure devices on startup.
This makes xsetwacom fails if you use some commands: "xsetwacom list" outputs:
invalid escape %D found in path template
invalid escape %D found in path template

I reviewed the patch and have included it in with our series of patches to test at the Ubuntu Forums. The only change that I think might be needed is with wacom_wac.c for the BAMBOO_PEN. It is currently calling wacom_bamboo_pt but your patch creates the wacom_bamboo_pen function. I am thinking that you want the BAMBOO_PEN call wacom_bamboo_pen instead.

Graphical applications needs to find out the model of the pen that is used and the serial on the pen device to be able to tell them apart if there is multiple of one model. I believe that the new XInput functions XGetDeviceProperty is a good way to solve this and are available from version 1.2.
