I have seen how Linux Libertine has evolved over the years, and I would say that right now, this font IS my preferred free and open alternative to Times New Roman, far more professional, and aesthetically and visually pleasing. I really really really recommend this font. Pedro M. Rosario Barbosa

As an academic user, I have been extremely impressed by Linux Libertine (& Biolinum). It has covered nearly all the glyphs that I have needed in my academic original language work and does so in an aesthetically pleasing manner. I wholeheartedly recommend it to everyone.
