THe change of the status of MAxDB is making this topic really usefull.
As you may already know SAP took MAXDB back to its ownership. The licence itself change a little bit. MAXDB is no more welcome SAPDB. A 7.7 version was released only to have a full commercial licence on SAPDB. We can be anxious of what is the future of this database...
I want to correct someting wrong in this topic, MaxDB is free to use (in a defined licence) and do not cost 40$ more than mysql.
Since a while we plan the DB migration, but we never found the fund to realize it. We are looking for sponsoring for this.
Anyhow when the project will start, the first ported databases will be oracle and postgresql. After DB2, Ingre, MS SQL server, Sybase and MySQL should follow.
This is the current direction, but if a massive community request for mysql is notified, the plan can change... so help us to make LIMBAS world wide known!
