If you run gtk-demo and choose Tree View/Tree Store, you will see that you can navigate through columns and rows of the TreeView with and directions arrow. Lazy people like me appreciate it since it makes the software usable without a mouse.
Unfortunately, this doesn’t works for the item list in liferea (tested with 1.6.0 and 1.7.1). Attached patch fixes it.

I believe checking for a valid URI scheme (a protocol specifier) is a good idea.

There are people who read while indenting text with mouse. They do click around a lot.
Since upgrading to 1.6 something changed in drag and drop, making Liferea really annoying.
If text is dragged from new and released nearby in non-text-filled area (as you would accidently drag and drop text nearby), it gets added as new feed. It's even worse if you drag several lines of text, you will...

I am also having the same issue, after my migration from openSUSE 11.1 to openSUSE 11.2 which embbed Liferea 1.6.
I had a long discussion in the openSUSE bug tracker before finding out that the issue was really limited to Liferea (https://bugzilla.novell.com/show_bug.cgi?id=550342).
