Build lightweight networks of service-based components (SOA or Cloud). Programmable framework with many features - add/run services, add/search metadata, autonomous, agent-based, self-organising and distributed/remote communication. Java J2SE (1.4+) and J2ME CDC compatible.

Communication includes XML-RPC, HTTP and dynamic Web Services invocation (SOAP or RESTful).

An 'All-in-One' GUI is a free tool, available from another site. You can use it to run all of the packages and your own separate modules. Alternatively, you can write your own programs using the stand-alone server, or by extending the open source classes.

The code can be used as a service-based platform or for more scientific programs. Sub-packages include a limited amount of text or query processing, or heuristic evaluation. An additional problem solver provides genetic algorithms and there are also novel linking and matching frameworks.

Some example services are provided - messenger, file sharing, web service.

  • The capability to build distributed networks of autonomic service-based components.
  • Permanent and dynamic linking mechanisms to construct the network architecture.
  • Autonomic self-organisation through a dynamic linking mechanism.
  • Local or remote communication capabilities, including an XML-RPC message passing mechanism, Web Services (SOAP or RESTful), or HTTP request.
  • Java-based or Web-based clients.
  • Service wrapper classes allowing legacy code to be loaded.
  • Framework for adding an Autonomic Manager and policy scripts to a service.
  • Framework for adding metadata, with a default query engine.
  • Compatibility with the Java mobile (J2ME) environment.
  • Examples of instant messenger and file sharing applications.
  • Problem-solving framework, allowing for the addition of more complex heuristic search processes.
  • All-in-one GUI for viewing or testing your networks. Not open source, but provided free to help with development.
