Where to get hardware documentation

I have an IBM 4779 terminal that I would like to use with my Linux/BSD systems. I'd be happy to help with some of the development if you can point me at some documentation. I have a client that would like to use this device (if possible.)

My 4779 didn't come with documentation or a power supply. I suppose the first step is getting a working power supply. How would I know if my terminal was properly powered? Is there an indicator light or does the LCD display anything?

I haven't been able to find documentation on IBM's site regarding this device. Any pointers would be appreciated.
