Yes, I doubt they would include DOS drivers. That would be if it worked just like a regular monitor and mouse, which I doubt. Just mentioned it because it was cool. While touch screen would be nice, I won't bug you about it. :) Keyboard works really well and everyone can use it. I did find a laptop which has classic hardware which LCARS 24 works on as well as a touch screen though. The...

That's cool, but with any of these things I worry about DOS compatibility. ActionPlant asked about X-10 networks and assured me that it would be okay to implement it for DOS-based LCARS, but then I found that that only applies to hardware no longer on the market. One of these days I'll get a touch monitor, but trying to make it work with DOS I'm sure will be a problem. One guy picked up a...

With the new launcher, the cursor goes to the top of recent. That seems best. About the cursor position for the library menu and edit for HTML, I'll write those down, and give them some thought. One weakness with regard to HTML editing is line length, but I can try it and see what it takes.

Sorry for reviving an old thread, but I found an interesting piece of tech : http://www.symbian-freak.com/news/010/01/light_blue_optics_unveils_light_touch_pico_projector.htm Couldn't help but think this would be really awesome with an LCARS interface. As it is now, flash-based and all, I doubt it can be used for that. But it would be neat of someone created a device like this...

Yep, I think this will be really practical and efficient to use. The different colors also make it easy to make out which program is which. By the way, will it remember the last cursor position now? Because I was thinking that it might actually be more practical to have the cursor at the top of the Recent list at all times instead. Saving the cursor position would be useful for the Library...

  • image zoom

Some images get stretched horizontally if zoomed up a little, and the left and right parts don't get erased when zooming back down.

Right. I realized after posting that I hadn't logged in. If you pick one from Recent, that also jumps to the top of Recent. I like the results. It's very robust and efficient. Very quick service.

  • New program launcher

Here's a first look at the new program launcher. Recent, in the leftmost column, gets updated and saved to disk. It stores up to 12 items, in usage order, with no duplicates. It all works very smoothly, this time with no sound. I haven't put the DOS apps in the rightmost column yet, but that's where they will go. Hopefully, users will like this better. It should do the job faster...
