Launchy

Hi,

tried to use launchy under Vista but it seems not to be able to create an index file with all my apps in the start menu.

Any hints how I can get it working?

I don't have Vista yet so I don't have much to recommend. Are you on a limited user account or is it administrative?

Under Vista each account is limited. I also tried to run launchy with admin rights but nothing changed.

I will try some things and report if I get it working.

Okay, it is working now.

You have to put the following folder in the directories list "C:\ProgramData\Miscrosoft\Windows\Start Menu\Programs".

I need to run Launchy as Administrator (I've to set it in the link proprieties). My user is already Administrator, but if I don't launch it as Administrator Launchy can't rebuild index with all my folders...

I put the above mentioned folder in the directories list along with all of my personal folders.( documents etc.) But it won't index my documents. It will index the directories of my music but not the subdirectories.

Never mind. I figured it out. I was only listing file types in 'all directories'. What made it work was when I listed the file types for each directory that is to be scanned.

But it still won't work with Control Panel.
ANy ideas?

Sorry to be so all over the place.
I take it all back. I thought I had it figured out but I don't.
I can get it to index the directories, so I can launch my specific folders within, but it still won't launch specific documents and files.
Any ideas?????

gpzbc: All that I can do is suggest that you wait for the next version. It's a complete rewrite using QT.. it should fix your problems. It will be a month or two until release though.

Thanks for the reply. I'll just deal with it until then. (I can still launch applications and bookmarks.)
