Kontrollerlab - crashes on Ubuntu Hardy

  1. 2008-05-17 05:58:45 PDT
    Hi,
    i've just gotten updates on Hardy Heron and Kontrollerlab now crashes. It used to work perfectly.
    I couldn't get any debug trace out of it so i downloaded the source and compiled.

    Now, i get the following trace in the KCrash window:

    [Thread debugging using libthread_db enabled]
    [New Thread 0xb65e08d0 (LWP 8052)]
    [KCrash handler]
    #6 0x080c3fc1 in KLProject::readFromDOMElement ()
    #7 0x080c43e3 in KLProject::open ()
    #8 0x080e453e in KontrollerLab::readProperties ()
    #9 0x080ed471 in KontrollerLab::KontrollerLab ()
    #10 0x080ee197 in main ()

    as non root user i see this in my terminal:
    john@juju:~$ /usr/local/kde/bin/kontrollerlab
    kbuildsycoca running...
    KCrash: Application 'kontrollerlab' crashing...
    john@juju:~$

    any idea what i can try next ?

    Regards
    John

    the downloaded source was: kontrollerlab-0.8.0-beta1

    Hi,

    i looked around the file system after looking at it with "strace" a bit and after deleting .kde/share/config/kontrollerlabrc file it appears to be OK.

    Will keep posted.

    Regards
    John

    once the kontrollerlabrc file is deleted from the user home directory, its ok. If you save a project, it bombs the next time you load it.

    Any help would be appreciated. Let me know if there is anything else i could try.
    Thanks
    John

    further tests: remove the recent files and current project from the kontrollerlabrc file and the system starts.
    As soon as you open a saved project ( with version 0.8.0 beta) it crashes with the following data:
