Knomos

I have to run the Knomos software in order to fulfil an academic research. During the installation I encountered the following problem. The installation instructions suggests that the user should copy

" ServerAdmin root DocumentRoot [/path-apache/knomos/] ServerName localhost ErrorLog logs/knomos-errorlog CustomLog logs/knomos-accesslog common DirectoryIndex login.php main.php index.php "

into a configuration file of the apache in order to create a virtual host . But once this is done apache cannot run. Maybe the path we enter is incorrect? We are running xampp. We are trying to find online resources and help for over a month without success. Please provide me some additional information of what must be done to run Knomos succesfully. It is very critical to help us or forward the email to someone who can.
