Kicad EDA is an open source (GPL) software for the creation of electronic schematic diagrams and printed circuit board artwork.
Great, it replaces my old $$$$ CAD after the death of my dongle forced me to find a new unlimited solution
Very nice work! This application will have great importance in the future when developing open-source hardware!
Good and growing project. Nice mailing lists (yahoo groups). And weekly fixes commits and improvements. One day many people will use KiCad, and switch from their expensive CAD to us ! Still we need good project structure and milestones and improving documentation.
I used KiCAD to design the PCB for my MSc thesis. It is an easy-to-learn, powerful and GPL'd tool that is improved from day to day. Why would one opt for the expensive ones?
The most powerfull and interesting Open PCB design software. A very good piece of software. Thanks.
Nice free tools
KiCad is more and more easier to use then earlier.
KiCAD is the fastest and most productivity-focused of the Open Source EDA suites.
corrupted dowload
the onnly CAO electronic totally free with sources which is working pretty well
Great schematic capture. PCB design needs more development but is very usable.
Working, many useful features.
Powerfull, intuitive, great new features added each stable release.
my company already use is as an important tool
super opensource project, but there are some little error
Perfect product, i'm using it professionally!
Kicad is actually a wonderful project. I've tried to use it in production enviroments (and I know there are designers that use it), but there are features that must be improved before it could be competitive with most common commercial systems. From a general look at the code, I hope in the near time that there will be a tabular editable form for the database structure, or, at least, the use of STL templates instead of pointer chains. For hobbists, I think it is the best software: simple yet powerful.
Still needs a great amount of improvements, but the best free program. In many ways comparable to several commercial programs.
