Which version of KP are you using? I tested 2.09 on an XP virtual machine and had no problem restoring the DB file. I tried two retore options: from the agent and from the web - both worked just fine. Btw you said you've just moved to Win7 - does that mean that you had no problems before that (ie. on XP or 2000)?.

I like it. That way, even if no changes are made to the database, the encrypted file would change completely.

Hi luckyrat,
thanks for your help! With that I was able to restore the most entries of my database. Some entries are lost, but I have an old database from release 1.x stored and with both, nothing is lost! Thanks a lot, you are my hero!
-Paul: yes the backup was very recent, but I think there is a misunderstanding. I've just closed keepass and stored the changes. After keepass was closed...

V1 CSV only has 5 fields?
You only need as many fields as you have in the header row.
e.g. 3 fields.
"Account", "Login Name", "Password"
"SourceForge","ghostofunder","password1"
cheers, Paul.

Hmm... generally speaking, CSV doesn't need trailing empty columns, and if it does, just use e.g `,,,` -- no need to put in the quotes. That shouldn't make a difference, though.
Also, KeePass 2.x and 1.x can be installed at the same time very nicely, so you don't need to uninstall and reinstall 1.x.

Thanks for the Notepad++ tip. I has been and I'm sure will be quite helpful. I checked the sample file and mine looks the same with the exception of my having only 3 fields of data.
I had added the remaining three columns as ," "," ",""
I went through quite a few passes at loading and corrected errors in the individual lines as they were reported so it doesn't appear that the formatting...
