K Disk archiver (KDar) is a KDE GUI-based backup and archiving program. Use it to prepare your data for storage on CD-Rs, jazz drives, floppies, even DVDs. KDar uses the dar library by Denis Corbin. Features include compression and archive splitting.
Full-featured frontend for DAR - Outstanding application for incremental backups, encryption, all the features that are missing in plain old tarballs!
-Updated to use the Dar library version 4.4.x. -Added a spanish translation. -Added Ubuntu AMD64 package and diff file for compiling on different platforms. Thanks to Guiseppe Borzi! From his notes: " the binary package for 64 bit is attached to this email along with the diff file which can be useful to those that may want to compile the package under different systems (e.g. 32 bit or ppc). Please note that this package is a kde3 package, so like other kde3 apps in ubuntu 8.10 will fail to open the handbook. To solve this problem, look at this post of mines http://ubuntuforums.org/showpost.php?p=6842051&postcount=2"
