Internationalisation files ( texts files with all
labels and messages translated in different languages)
are not found. Any way there are present in the
karto.jar (in karto/lang )
French language is always used.
To by pass the problem, we should extract the files
KartoTexte_en_GB.properties KartoTexte_es_ES.properties
or KartoTexte_it_IT.properties and put thems in the
same directory...

Hello,
I thing you have to add and "export CLASSPATH" in the file, after the CLASSPATH variable is set.
That depend on the shell you use.
-controle that your file path is ok for
$HOME/pingus/Download/Karto0.8/lib/karto.jar
- add the export command,
- remove the jar files copy you done (it will be cleaner)
and try again.
