Great for improving your vocabulary in any language you choose :) And the main developer is still working on it!

Clean and flexible, plus the developer keeps improving it. This little app has done wonders for my language learning.

I could not find a better free learning program than this. I've tried Parley - a vocabulary learning tool from KDE project - while it has more (mostely useless IMHO) features, it lacks many crutial JVLT has. E.g., JVLT allows you to link words in examples nicely, JVLT has custom fields which allow you to do basically everything (add translation to any other language, or etimology, or some grammar-related notes, etc). Also, in Parley, during the quiz they do not show the examples associated with the word. How can you learn verbs which can have many meanings and tricky usage without always looking at the examples? I wish Jvlt is not given up on and keeps being developed and improved. But it is aleady very good as it is, at least to me. Thanks!
