I have been travelling around europe since november last year and have only recently settled down in London. I have been out of touch with things for quite a while and have been catching up with the IPv6/Java world. The news is that Sun will be support IPv6 in the v1.4 release of Java. A closed beta testing stage is in progress and it looks like it is going well (by the bug reports on JDC), though I don't have access to any of the beta builds of v1.4. Searching for "merlin api" on http://java.sun.com should take you to some documentation on what's new. I'm not sure what the future of Jipsy will be once v1.4 is released. I welcome any suggestions. regards matthew
Jipsy is a drop in replacement for the portions of the java.net.* classes that enable Java applications to seamlessly communicate using IPv6 AND IPv4. No modication to the application source code OR recompilation of source is necessary to take advantage of it. The latest release of Jipsy (version 0.2.1) now supports Java 2.
