JFreeChart is a free (LGPL) chart library for the Java(tm) platform. It supports bar charts, pie charts, line charts, time series charts, scatter plots, histograms, simple Gantt charts, Pareto charts, bubble plots, dials, thermometers and more.

great for the portfolio management app that i wrote. API is easy to deal with. only downside is interacting with the charts requires some fiddling...

We used JFreeChart to create interactive charts in our product. JFreeChart even has utilities and servlets allowing you to focus on your business and let JFreeChart take care of displaying the results.

Very rich chart library. I have used box and whisker charts so far. A bit complex, plan on investing some learning time, but worth it.
