  • Welcome to jFAST

Welcome to the Java Finite Automata Simulation Tool (jFAST) website on SourceForge. jFAST is intended to provide an accurate, effective, and easy-to-use utility for exploring basic finite state machines (FSM). It is not intended to replace more powerful tools such as JFLAP, but instead to serve as a complementary utility that provides a simpler and more intuitive user interface for introductory users (in addition to a rich variety of FSM creation, editing, and simulation tools). We hope that this will help anyone new to FSM to easily explore FSM without many of the common hassles with initially learning about FSM (such as difficulty with syntax, learning to use a powerful-yet-complicated software package, and confusion about how FSM actually work). If you are excited about jFAST, and would like to contribute code or ideas, please contact the jFAST coordinator (and currently the sole programmer), Tim White at the_Fremen@hotmail.com.
