I tried it using a VM (from VirtualAppliances) and VMPlayer and I too ran into problems! To make a long story short, it didn't have any thing to do with JavaWebParts (it always feels great to say that!) but with Tomcat. It seems they made some changes in the security in 5.5. After making some changes it worked, although I don't know which one did the trick. Here they come: 1. In the file...

Hi, might look like a stupid question, but which download did you use? I've running Ubuntu on a pc around here, I could give it a try this weekend..... Herman.

I'm not sure what's going on... are you seeing any errors in logs or anything? FYI, I've never personally used the manager, so I don't know if there's any complications there... also, I've definitely run it on that version of TC.

I've started from scratch. First I installed Tomcat 5.5 on my ubuntu server running apache, then once it was up and running perfect and the tomcat manager was working perfectly I extracted the javawebparts package and addeded it to the webapps folder. From the manager, navigated to list applications and I do see it in the list however it says running false and when I try to start it i get a...

Sorry, I'm at a loss then. I just download the most recent version and dropped it in Tomcat to make sure the distro didn't get messed up, and it worked perfectly. I tried it on WInXP as well as Red Hat, no problem on either. Really not sure what could be causing what you're seeing.

Now I'm getting a 404 error with the additional text "The requested resource () is not available." that's after just extracting the archive to my webapps dir. Any other guesses?.

Ok... I'll assume centOS isn't an issue (never used it myself, but I'd be surprised if it was a problem)... from the sounds of it, you put it in the wrong place... copy the ZIP file to tomcat/webapps and unzip it there... you should see a directory javawebparts *at the same level* as ROOT... javawebparts is itself a webapp, and it sounds like you've essentially tried to put a webapp (JWP) inside...

  • Followup: RE: JavaWebParts in Subdirectory

I'm running a centOS server, with tomcat 5.5 downloaded javawebparts and uploaded it to my tomcat ROOT folder in a subfolder named javawebparts. From there I had to update index.jsp and header.inc to reflect that the includes are not in the root directory but rather in the local directory. It appears I'm having the same problem with the other includes but telling the page where the file is...

  • Followup: RE: JavaWebParts in Subdirectory

Could you describe in a little more detail what you tried? What server are you running in? You shouldn't have to tell anything where anything else is, it should "just work"... at least, that's true in Tomcat, so if you're running in a different server that may not be the case. Also, is it by chance just APT that's not working? Can you get to other parts of it? I'm wondering if...

  • JavaWebParts in Subdirectory

Hello community, I'm having a horrible time getting JWP to work as I've unarchived it in a sub-directory on my webserver and can not get it to find the files it wants to include /javawebparts/packages_jsp/ajaxparts/index.jsp can't find ajaxparts/taglib and no matter how I tell it where to find the file in the include files and jsp file, it will not work. Any suggestions???.
