No workaround can be done? Because we can neither upgrade our application nor modify the other application using jGroups 2.6.2.

In general you can not create a cluster with nodes having different JGroups versions. Different patch versions might work, as they're binary compatible, but not different minor or major versions.
So it looks like you have to run all of your nodes on 2.2.6 and JDK 1.4.

Hi,
I have problem to connect to a channel created with jGroups 2.6.2 (JDK1.6) from jGroups 2.2.6 (JDK 1.4). Is it impossible to do that. I can't use jGroups 2.6.2 because I must use JDK 1.4.
