We are going to merge with customWars forums.customwars.com Because they have a backing community, have graphical artists, know the aw game inside out,... I was also tired of doing everything myself...
Active rendering swing + java2D is becoming to slow, so the best option is to switch to slick. Slick provides an api much like java2D only backed by opengl. you can find them here http://slick.cokeandcode.com/
We are now using SVN as version control. CVS remains available to lookup code. Also we are going to work on the next version V2.0 See V2 http://jadvancedwars.sourceforge.net/forum/viewforum.php?f=13 for more information about this new version.
1 month of coding is finaly showing some on screen results, check it out in the download section! We are open for feature request and bug reports.
We are starting with creating a uml sheme and planning what classes to use. as design pattern we will use the client-server approuch. at the moment we only use 1 client and only a local server. This is realy the best moment to jump in as developer. We currently have 2 admins. and 17 classes.
