unexpectedly, they need to be present for the whole thing to start, same for mysql, must be up and running before tomcat starts.

Just tested it again, it still works on my PC. All I can suggest is send you a zip of the whole itracker folder maybe. Also note that if mysql is stopped, itracker won't start either.

I've tried puting war file and itracker in different folders with no help. I did not download those jar files yet couse sure this problem is not about them at this stage.
anyway thanks for help i'll give a go to jira as you say i see there is no support on this issue.

I did this a long time ago, I don't remember if I did anything else, but that was the main problem. the war file was located at the wrong place when used as you would normally do.
Also you have to install 2 .jar files in the lib folder, mailapi.jar and activation.jar which are not in the tomcat distrib, and must downloaded from Sun's site. I can't remember where I got them, but it was easy to...

Hi,
thanks for quick reply. But don't know what you mean. I'am putting itracker under webapps directory(looks like /var/lib/tomcat6/webapps/itracker/). I tried copying content manualy, also i tried putting itracker.war file into webapps directory, then restarting tomcat. Tomcat extracts that file successfully but when i trying to connect localhost:8080/itracker it gives me "404"...

See my previous posts on the subject, it a folder tree problem. Bring manually the unzipped folder itracker one step up, to get it right under webapps.

Also i have configured mysql to have username and password. i've edited in /WEB-INF/classes/application.properties file. I've created itrackerdev database by hand.

Hi everyone,
Just downloaded itracker. Can't do a first step. I have extracted it to tomcat directory(under webapps). Restarted tomcat and can't access it by localhost:8080/itracker. I am getting error
404 resource not available.
I am not of real tomcat admin but think it's somewhere WEB-INF and META-INF configuration file is prohibiting me to access directory, becouse if i delete both of...

Thanks pagemeeting for you kind answer. However I will have to stop the trialsince it seems my posting is of no interest to the app developers. If i have to score a program based on the installation instructions itracker will get a minus5 score.
OTRS was easy to install. I know is not java based, but for my purposes as a small company, it worked.
maybe next time......cheers.
