Nice piece of software to have. It needs to be brought up to date though. Would like to use it on both Wndows and Linux boxes as an easily installed package.

Great tool for an independent validation of network throughput. Have used on numerous occasions and has helped in troubleshooting troublesome wan connections. On one occasion had encryption devices on one end that caused 90% drop in throughput in one direction but not the other direction due to corrupted ACL's. The product our company sold had built in throughput analysis that demonstrated the WAN throughput was not as the customer had purchased and had SLA's vendor had promised, but the vendor was suspect of the tools built into the product. By pointing the vendor to this solution and allowing them to configure independent equipment to test throughput it allowed for independent assessment and repeatable test to allow better problem isolation and resolution and overcoming a roadblock to the implementation.

Have not used yet, but the previews are very encouraging. I shall give it a try-out, and provide feedback if need be.

Is there a possibility to run iperf client in udp-mode without a server on the destination, just to fill the pipe.

Excellent. However, I wish you could set the port in TCP - when I try "iperf -s -t -p 1720 -i 10", I get: "iperf: ignoring extra argument -- 1720"
