The iNewTampa Project is a simple, effective portal engine for small community websites. It has the capability to dynamically "fetch" the latest news, weather, stock quotes, while allowing community members to post information, chat, discuss, and mingle.

Sorry guys, I've been trying to keep people updated and stuff, but a lot has been going on. Anyhoo, I am working on the next prealpha version of iNewTampa. This will be a MAJOR release, as it will eliminate ALL static HTML and modularize the system. It will also include a new advertising engine (in this release, however, the main focus on advertising will be incoming, not outgoing). We still need plenty of help now, especially from those who are great designers (when it comes to web pages). Sorry about the online demo; it is practically unusable. This problem will hopefully be fixed by the time of the next iNewTampa release. SourceForge's MySQL is killing me. As for the cookies problem, here's the quick lowdown: Although there are other ways of accomplishing the same task, cookies are user-friendly and although some dislike the privacy loss, cookies can help people in more ways than hurting them. I will consider the use of sessions in later versions. That's the brief; stay tuned for more info. --Justin Shin Project Leader
The iNewTampa Project: Pre-Alpha 0.03 demonstration is now avaliable @ http://inewtampa.sourceforge.net (alternatively, you could use the link of Home Page on our project page [where you are at right now]). If there are any bugs, please report them at the "Bugs" link! Thanks, Justin Shin
-Fixed the "double header" error with the cookies: In secure/signup.php, two cookies are set after HTTP headers have already been sent out. This error has been fixed. -Fixed the config.php document root problem in thankyou.php
I just completed pre-alpha 0.03, and I forgot to release 0.02, so I just released them both at the same time. Even 0.03 is *HIGHLY* unstable and I would like some more help on this project. I know, I know, the files are .ZIPed, but I use a Windows box and if you'd like a TARRED GZIP file, then email me. Justin Shin
-Added an improved install/uninstall -Added news syndication or grabbing -Modularized site with config.php script (added variables for site name, logo, loginpage, etc.)
