Impressive is a program that displays PDF presentation slides with style. Smooth alpha-blended slide transitions are provided for the sake of eye candy, but in addition to this, Impressive offers some unique tools that are very useful for presentations.

This is one of the most useful programs I have. Principally it offers the following advantages: 1. Great for presentations 2. In Linux there is a void in pdf rendering software. This fills that void for me 3. You can present videos very easily by calling them in Latex using: \href{run:video.mp4}{{\includegraphics[width=0.03\paperwidth]{marker.png}}} 4. When combined with mpv to render videos you can also create a file in the same folder called mpv.conf containing for instance the lines: screen=1 on line 1 and geometry=70%+380+80. This will permit the pdf to be rendered on the projector screen at 70% of the specified size and 380 pixels to the right and 80 pixels down. 5. The highlighting is great. 6. You can create your own cursor. Mine is a large red arrow. if you then create a desktop link and have the cursor image in the same directory, its pretty effective. All in all a great thing to use with mpv on a linux platform.
