This software is yet another tool for Japanese kanji learning. Currently it packages full kanji lists for JLPT levels and offers several exercises to practice. Don't take the name of the project too seriously, I sort of enjoy studying kanji.

Some changes from previous version. Besides a couple of bugs fixed, this release features the first version of a kanji similarity algorithm, which is used to present more challenging exercises in which the user has to choose between similar kanji. While it still needs a lot of work, it's a interesting feature to explore. Hope someone tried this new version!
0.4.1 - Added new browse mode, without popups (either mode can be selected). - Similarity between kanji is now considered in "kanji choose" type exercises. - When creating a new profile, the tool asks you your current JLPT level (and it trusts you :P ). - Kanji cards now don't show full word lists, but browseable selections. - Kana input for "write reading" exercise now converts capital letters to katakana. - Fixed a bug related to the character used to separate kanji readings. - Fixed a bug concerning the "new level" message when finishing the last levels (hope you get there!). - Substituted new versions of libraries: + BrowserLauncher2: 1.3 (August 31, 2007)
A new version of the tool. The most important point is the inclusion of full lists of kanji for JLPT levels. Also, stroke order diagrams are included now. The interface has been revamped, and the collection of exercises has been increased, including now a "draw kanji" practice and "kanji in word reading", among others. Hope someone finds it useful!
- Major changes in the graphical interface. - Packaged full kanji lists. Also vocabulary database. - Added kanji stroke order diagrams and draw kanji exercises.
CHANGES IN 0.3 ------------------------------- - Changed dic structure. Now words can be organized in groups. - Added meaning to kanji information; some sources include it. - Words cannot be activated any more :(. Didn't like that too much, and it'd be very unpractical with a big number of words. - 'Kanji in Word' exercise can be configured by selecting the word set. - Added 'Practice Kanji' exercise. - Added group report & score. - If a group is empty, the set of items used for exercises and scores will be the union of its subgroups. - Added style to the information, by means of cascade style sheets. - WARNING: XML dictinaries for old versions won't be compatible with this new version. CHANGES IN 0.2 ------------------------------- - Added search functinality. - Menus change with current action: browse dictionary / do exercise . - Exercises can have their own menus (for configuration issues, for instance). - Added 'word practice' exercise. - Dictionary tree estructure changed. - Fixed some issues about input methods (regarding automatic switching to Japanese IME and back). (Will need some work when a proper settings panel including localization is added.) - Added splash image; quite buggy though.
